A “Protesting Winter” Smoothie Bowl

It figures that my “protesting winter smoothie bowl” looks like an ode to Christmas. There’s red. There’s green. The irony is not lost on me. Lately I’ve been fast pacing through the streets, wearing a coat made for snowstorms, and it hasn’t even been below 40 degrees yet. I am not made for cold weather. My dream life is to never leave the beaches of Hawaii. But for now, Philly is home and I’ve got to work with what I’ve got.

Though it doesn’t look like it, this smoothie bowl is a protest! I’m not down with the Christmas music playing already in stores, or the snow that came down last week! It’s way too soon for all of this!

To help me feel less like Scrooge, I channeled my energy into making something delicious. This bowl gave me summer vibes. It’s mostly made up of tropical fruit, is sweet and delicious, and I put it in my special coconut bowl! Does any of this change the weather? No. Did it remind me of warmer, happier times? Yes! I threw in some spinach to make it a little healthier, but for the most part, this bowl is just delicious fruit.
